About Dr. Lafferty
Dr. David Lafferty is a board certified otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat specialist), who has subspeciality fellowship training in otology – the diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss and complex ear conditions. Dr. Lafferty is now the only otologist currently practicing in Western New York.
Dr. Lafferty treats patients of all ages for all ear, nose and throat related conditions, but his subspecialty in otology makes him uniquely qualified to also treat patients with hearing loss and other complex ear problems, including those best treated surgically, such as cochlear implants to address hearing loss in patients young and old alike. Prior to Dr. Lafferty’s return to Western New York, patients with these conditions needed to travel to Rochester, NY to see an otologist.
Dr. Lafferty is accepting new patients, which he will be seeing at WNY ENT’s office(s) in Orchard Park, Williamsville and Lockport.
As a Western New York native, Dr. Lafferty is proud to be able to give so much back to his local community.
In His Own Words
What is your main strength as a physician?
I possess exceptional patience and dedicate ample time to fully understand my patients’ concerns. It is not only important to comprehend their medical issues but also to grasp how these problems impact their daily lives. This understanding allows me to determine the most suitable and effective treatment approach for each individual.
What do you like most about being a physician?
Undoubtedly, what I value most about being a physician is the opportunity to establish meaningful connections with my patients. I take great pleasure in getting to know them on a personal level and fostering a strong doctor-patient relationship based on trust and understanding.
What do you like to do in your free time?
During my leisure time, I cherish spending quality moments with my wife, Kelly, and our two young children, Grace and Dylan. Additionally, I have recently embarked on improving my golfing skills. Engaging in outdoor activities such as hiking, running, biking, rock climbing, and skiing is something I genuinely enjoy. I also find great pleasure in delving into fascinating books on history, broadening my knowledge beyond the realm of medicine.
